Did my first “Zentangle” today in my Ink pad. Not only was it relaxing, but I totally love how it turned out. No planning = no mistakes. I’ve got six panels pencilled onto the page. That’s one pattern down, five more to explore. If I fill this page up quickly enough, I may just have to splurge and buy myself a little notebook and some good Microns for these things. So entertaining!
I’m thinking of buying myself a little Hand+Book Journal Co 5.5″ x 5.5″ in green (so relaxing!), or a Flexi-Sketch 6″x6″. The former is hardcover, comes in prettier colours and includes the band to keep it shut (which I love), but it’s over twice the price ($13 vs $6!) and has only 128 pages vs the Flexi which is softcover, only vibrant orange (which I’m really not opposed to), includes no band, has 300 pages, and is again much cheaper. Unfortunately, I can’t compare the actual paper weight, which would be the deciding factor for me, because weight is not given for each and I can’t seem to find it anywhere. Boo!
I’d really love to mess around with a bigger square pad, 8×8 or even 10×10, but I like the idea of these little 3×3 inch squares. Smaller spaces are a challenge for me, and so is working on a project for an extended amount of time. Bigger pages take much longer to complete, and I fancy the idea of these being quick little doodles when I need a break or I’m bored. So for now, I’ll just do some pages in the Ink pad and enjoy myself.
And now, I’m going back to it!
